STATEMENT
The philosopher Heraclitus once stated, “Everything flows, nothing stands still.” Yet time, ever-flowing and invisible to the human eye, can be suspended and made visible by the camera: for example, the changing shape of a cloud over the face of the moon, the rotation of the stars, or the incoming tide. My photographs explore the concept of time through the medium of landscape. Some photographs capture the effects of a singular moment in time that would otherwise pass in an instant, or too slowly for the human eye to view. Thus, recording the contrast between the static and dynamic world in a single frame. Other photographs explore the effect time has had on the earth’s natural surroundings. Through my work I hope to provide some insight into the intangible dimension of time.
